A-Ma-Zing.
Ok so, admittedly I've never been to a reggae or reggae influenced show before but I loved it so much. Nas and Damian Marley, both two amazing talents in their own rights, which doesn't necessarily mean a collaboration would work, but trust me it did.
For me what made this show so great was its overwhelming sense of spirituality channeled into the performance. I loved everything from the African theme, the hand drums, the Rastafarian swinging the Ethopian Flag for the whole show, and most importantly the passion the artists put into the delivery of their music.
My favorite part of the show would probably be Nas's acoustic performance of 'One Mic' --- standing back to back with the drummer for the slow part of the songs, the legendary rapper delivered his lyrics with so much meaning it was almost as if he was alone praying, and then with huge gusto he delivered the louder fast past segmerts of the song with so much passion that you could literally feel the emotion in every word
As we all know Nas and Marley have always kept their sound true to their creative artistry and never traded in their integrity for commercial success, and this paid off in an amazing performance which truly made the audience feel connected to the artists
