New Drake! ''Marvins Room''
Normally, am not a fan of Drake's 'singing' and wish he would just stick to the raps, but I'll let this track be the exception to the rule.
(It's not that I think Drakes singing records are usually that bad, just kinda boring.)
'Marvin's Room' however, hits the nail on the head.
Drake is one known to wear his heart on his sleeve and that's what we love about him! The track is a reenactment of a drunk dial. We all know how it is when your ex moves on before you do well basically that is the concept of this track, and its refreshing to hear it from a guys perspective for once! woohoo
It shows a vulnerable side to the guy, not only in relation to heartbreak, but also his trouble adapting to fame - two concepts he has touched on in previous work. I think this track shows Drake opening up more than ever before. Yes - even more than the verse in Fireworks in which he admits to getting used and abused by young Rihanna. There are short bursts of rapping in which the track livens up only slightly, but the song is mellow and relaxing, it has some kind of hypnotic effect where it makes you just want to zone out !
The track uses Drizzys trademark heavy synthesizing and ends with a brief but beautiful moment on the piano.
