Ok So since Ace Hood Came out with his anthemic 'Hustle Hard' 2 months ago, it seems that everybody is doing a version, both stateside and over here in the UK, From Lil Wayne to Tinie Tempah.
Out of UK Artists Chimpunk, Tinie and J Spades have all laid their vocals on the track. I feel like it was a close call between Chipmunk and J Spades.
I feel like in 2011 Chipmunk feels he has a lot to prove due to a lot criticism that his previous album turned its back on the grime industry, in his pursuit of more commercial pop - sounding music. However I feel like this desire to prove himself has given him a hunger that is really manifesting itself in great lyrical ability.
With adrenaline filled bars he claims '' I go in, ni**a I go wild, I go blind, I go Ray Charles'.
However he is only slightly upstaged by the relatively unknown J Spades, who effortlessly laces the track with what admittedly were somewhat stereotypical 'road bars', but were nevertheless irresistably seductive.
I think the high standards of all versions are thankful to the competitive nature of the hip-hop genre.
... o and of course .... how could I forget T- Boy
